Today, I am writing about CPS (Cyber-Physical-System), CPS is a combination of technology like AI, ML, Deep Learning, IoT, Big Data, Robotics, etc.CPS can make our life easy such that First example that is in the Health sector, heart surgery often require stopping the heart to perform surgery and then restarting the heart surgery, such surgery is extremely risky and carries many detrimental sides effects, but the idea behind Heart surgery by CPS, Surgeon can operate on a beating heart than stopping heart. There are two ways the first one is Surgical tools can be robotically controlled so that they move with the motion of the heart. A surgeon can use this tool to apply constant pressure to a point on the heart while the heart continues beats, there are many examples that are changing the lives of human being like, Education, An Efficient Divide and Conquer Approach for Big Data Analytics in Machine to Machine Communication, Blackout-free electricity generation, and distribution, Extreme-yield agriculture, Safe and rapid evacuation in response to natural or man-made disasters, Perpetual life assistants for busy, older or disabled people, Location-independent access to world-class medicine.

Cyber-Physical-System(C.P.S)

What is the difference between the Internet of Things (IoT) and Cyber-Physical-Systems (CPS).

Internet of Things is about connecting “Things” ( Objects and Machines) to the internet and eventually to each other; while Cyber-Physical-Systems (CPS) is the integration of computation, networking, and physical process.

Advantages:

There are many advantages that make CPS very useful, one of them are follows

1.Optimization of Smart Grids in a Cyber-Physical System Approach:

SG By CPS

To improve the cyber-physical relationship in SGs, six key functionalities are required,

  1. Whenever a fault occurs the system has to be repaired in a simple way and timely manner so that maintaining accessibility even the fault occurs is possible while at the same time not causing any harm when some part is malfunctioning;
  2. Without fundamental changes to its original configuration it’s maintaining high reliability in open, evolving, and uncertain environments so that the system can continue to operate even in the presence of failures;
  3. High predictability which guarantees the specified outcomes within the time span it is required to operate accurately;
  4. High sustainability embedded with self-healing and adjusting mechanisms and adapting to changing environments;
  5. High security so that the system has adequate means to protect itself from unauthorized access and attack;
  6. High interoperability which enables the system to provide or accept services conducive to effective communication and interoperation among system components.

Smart grid: A smart grid is an ecosystem that will rely on its basis on information acquisition assessment and decision making as well as management. In the smart grid, many traditional parts use Cyber-Physical Systems. They are used in the generation, transmission, and distribution and also in the customer side. In a generation, it will control the connection of the network as well as the operational aspects of the electricity generation.CPS monitors the conditions and cares for the stability of transmission and distribution networks that connect end-users to the smart grid. It will provide two-way communication and control between the power grid and consumers.

2.Medical CPS: Wireless Sensor networks collect the diagnostic information, monitor the health and drug administration of patient’s.The integration of computing and control mechanisms to the critical medical information communicated provides a fundamental prerequisite to high-confidence medical cyber-physical systems

Disadvantages:

As we are going to ahead towards technology and adopting a new era of technology, we are Lossing of purpose in life so there are some disadvantages of CPS as follows

  • Unemployment
  • Unpredictability
  • Computers gaining self-awareness

Future Scope:

Cyber-physical systems (CPS) will transform how humans interact with and control the physical world. Correct, affordable and flexible deployment of CPS can only be made possible by fundamental advances in science, engineering, and education. CPS technologies must be scalable across time and space and must deal with multiple time-scales, uncertainty, privacy concerns, and security issues. A new CPS science will define new mathematical foundations with formalisms to specify, analyze, verify and validate systems that monitor and control physical objects and entities. Cyber-physical sensing systems and green communications put a new emphasis on the task of energy management for wireless communications and favor the use of energy-harvesting technologies. Without any questions, CPS can be considered as an important step in the development of manufacturing systems. Whether this step would be regarded as the fourth industrial revolution will be decided by the coming generations, but certainly, this will happen with no zero probability
